The Subbuteo Association of Rosario (ASR, in Spanish) was founded
in 2007 by a group of Italians and Argentinians who played Subbuteo in their
early years; they wanted to play again and to spread Table Football in Argentina
and South America. After 2 months of life the ASR08 already had 20 members,
including 3 under 12 and one lady. Since its beginning, the ASR counts on a
solid juridical structure, including a Statute,
regular meetings and elections, annual fees and donations provided by the
members, and a website. The Directors' Committee organizes all the activities in a
continuos contact with the association members and other clubs and players in Argentina.
Among its goals, ASR 08 is particularly devoted to spread the sport among
children and ladies.
The
official colours of the association's uniform has been choosen by mixing the colours
of the two traditional football clubs of Rosario: Rosario Central and Newell's
Old Boys. The result is our beloved
black and yellow.
ASR08 is also pushing the institutionalization of the
Argentinian League and is discussing with the
LAFM (Liga Argentina Fútbol de
Mesa) Authorities and the
AMFM (Asociación Marplatense
Fútbol de Mesa) a project of Statutes
implying wider participation, regular elections and fostering of
activities. Among these future activities, ASR 08 will push and Work to make Argentina
meet the FISTF standards in order to become a full member, the first
in Latin America and outside Europe.
Today, ASR08 is the biggest Subbuteo Club in South America, counting on 36
members.
